It will still work you dont need a 120hz monitor or TV (i know i said in my first post you do , you dont.....but it will make the picture smoother and better) if you dont get a true 120hz tv/monitor you will just be limited to 24hz 1080P or 60hz 720P

That is perfect for movies and blu-rays!!

but the tv you showed me will work fine!!!!

Im using a samsung SA950D and planning on upgrading my optoma projector to a 3D one by chrismass

Regarding battlefield 3 in 3D , you should be ok but with 1080P the single 6950 will sturggle if you want to max it , ontop of that HDMI 1.4a is limited to 24hz @ 1080P which is not ideal for gaming......so a balance would be 720P high details @ 60hz should work fine , although your screen says its 400hz its not true 400hz as it has no input to enable 400hz......if you understand what im saying....either way thats too much info....it will be fine!

so do I need to purchase some driver to enable 3D gaming?
and do I need to purchase a special player to watch 3D movies?
and I assume im going to need a blu-ray drive aswell

Yes , my samsung came free with the driver...otherwise its like 20 bucks.
Yes , Im using Cyberlink power DVD 11 - 50 bucks
Yes you need a blu-ray drive - 150 bucks

But in the end.....youl have one big smile on your face...I know i do!

here, go to this link, it has all supported devices

I have done some research and apparently you do NOT need a display port, HDMI 1.4 works fine

also if its the AMD 3D you do not need a 120hz monitor, just a standard 3D TV which allows you to run at 720p @ 60hz or 1080p @ 24hz (which hopefully will be good enough for 3d gaming even at 1080p)

can anybody else confirm this?

and am I right in thinking that if i did buy a monitor/tv with a display port and 120hz input that I could run 3D at 1080p without the 24 fps limitation?
