help me find a gaming laptop

Thread Starter
I have been milking my 2009 macbook for a VERY LONG TIME.
2 ghz core 2 duo
4gb ram
nvidia 9400m 256mb
ive played BFBC2 alot at lowest settings, and ive had my share of fun. Plus i do all my professional photo work in my mac partition ( even though i go to windows partition for music production with FL Studio).

But with newer games coming out that i REALLY want to play, i think its time for a new laptop. But since i already have a mac book and i am so used to my workflow and libraries and using Lightroom/photoshop on my macbook, the new laptop would be mostly for games. I am also a poor student so lets get to the chase!

Are there any decent gaming laptops out there for less than $1,000 AFTER TAX? I dont care about weight, screen size, what kind of optical drive etc... appearance.

I just started but i have been looking at lenovo deaPad Y560p for $650
which has:
2nd generation Intel® Core™ i3-2310M Processor ( 2.10GHz 1333MHz 3MB )

AMD Radeon HD 6570M 1GB
and 6gb ram.

any other ideas guys?

i dont care about max settings, i just want to play games like BF3 at medium or something. and i saw a thread on this forum showing that with the same GPU, the difference between fps on core i3 and i7 wasnt that bad..

you pretty much need 1.5G+ to play BF3 smoothly TBH
my 1 gig cards were even putting along on low sometimes.
i bought a 3Gig GTX 580 and now it runs perfect
