Graphics card or console? - Page 4

highly recommend the 560ti, but if u can find the 6950 thats the more powerful card, pc beats console graphics wise any day, and playing with pc is jsut so much fun, i so want to by a old pc just to oc for fun, and when buying the card its self, get the brand which has the biggest scariest cooler on it, and factory OC is great, most people here recommend doing it ur self.... but it can be awkward some times(sure wu will be fine, dont worry),
so when choosing model get the one with
-biggest scariest cooler
-highest factory clocks
have fun
ur CPU will rock games fine,
and the PS u have will be fine,
getting sweet

Hate to admit it, but tons of good games are on consoles : Uncharted, God of War, Final Fantasy, Killzone, Halo, Gears of War, Heavy Rain, Little Big Planet, Metal Gear Solid, Shadow of the Colossus, Red Dead Redemption, Infamous, Resistance, Vanquish, Catherine, etc.

This is a hard call since there are great PS3 titles round the corner, FF Versus, SoC/Ico HD remake, The Last Guardian(Hell yes). But game would no doubt run better and look better, and come out with mods (Skyrim) to last you for a while. But, I would get a 560ti since a PC will be used alot more than a PS3 day-to-day.
that game can be had on pc at a fraction of the price, dear sir.

Well, seems to be my mistake then
May I know where I can get that? Would love to pick one up for my bro

Even so, there are still a horde of games on the console side, ModNation Racers, Bayonetta which I did not mention.

Still, its definitely more fun and satisfying playing stuff on a PC that you made yourself. And upgrading and overclocking is very fun as well Just waiting for the PSVita

I just checked the 560 Ti requires two 6 pin PCI-e power connectors. My PSU has only one.... Plus the manual says:

"Minimum 500W or greater system power supply (with a minimum 12V current rating of 30A) is recommended."

My power supply has a max. of 18A at 12V.

Guess I'll have to pick up a new PSU.

Anyway a person is selling his gtx 580 lightning used for $400. In India a new one sells for over $600. The card is 6 months old and under warranty. Is it a good deal?

I know it's out of my budget considering I will have to buy $150 PSU as well but I can try if its a good deal.

HD 6950 is more expensive here by around $30.

You'll get better graphics buying a graphics card for sure.

However, if all your friends have consoles, get whatever console they have so you can play online with them. If you friends play on PC, get the graphics card.

if you do buy a GTX 580, you will probably run into a bottleneck with your cpu, and definitely will need a new psu. for 400 though that is a good deal for a GTX 580, is it 1.5GB or 3 GB version?

i would say get the GTX 560 Ti or 6950 if you can handle the price, though a 6870 and a new psu if you need it will handle games very respectably
