End then the second one after that, to get what would be missed in the first and then fix the new bugs introduced.

It's and EA after all we are talking about.

running origin in the background will take no performance toll on your system. are you constantly rendering gigabytes of raw video? doubt it. are you trying to play 4 games at once? doubt it. will you notice a frame of difference playing 1 game?
Origin - 100-150MB
Battlelog running through FF, C, IE etc. 100-150MB
Windows 7 1.6GB~1.8GB
BF3 w or w/o memory leaks - 2.2~2.5GB

For someone with 4GB ram hitting that memory wall drops frames like a B****. Whats worse is that it stutters as windows shuffles things around the pagefile rather than dropping avg frames. With an SSD its almost neglible but alot of people use HDD's for budget while keeping to 4GB ram min.

If Origin and Battlelog didn't exist then the hit to people who have the unfourtunate luck of having memory leaks in bf3 as well as 4GB system mem would not be as harsh

EDIT: Clarify if need be

Get the message here? Origin is not new, its not superior or even equal to any of its serious competitors, its not cheaper, its not more stable, and chances are in a year or 2 it will close down, and they'll open a new platform, which they will use as an excuse to claim there are no records of your digital purchases, and demand you repurchase any games you want to play.

And you say I have a short memory
yes, eadm and ea link were created a long time ago. But those things have been integrated into origin. I didn't say you have a short memory, i said some people who seem to forget that new things often have problems, especially an online service.

i dont understand where people are getting that origin is taking 100-150mb of ram to run.
origin on my system is only taking 45mb. yes, thats all. and according to you, that 100mb will make a DRASTIC difference.

battlelog only runs at around 30mb of ram for me as well. you need to stop trying to exaggerate these numbers.

bf3 is only using about 1.5gb of ram.

clearly you must be trying to run this on a pentium d with ddr2 ram, or your system is terrible.

and yes, i am getting those number while in a full 64 slot MP server.

Jakim what i'm saying is that on boot/launch those programs take that amount of memory to execute, when it adds up to the point greater than system memory windows primarily stashes it in the pagefile on your HDD/SSD. With SSD's its fine because their access times are almost neglible but on a standard HDD it can cause fps spikes etc as data is being accessed. So yes it

Clearly you don't take the time to read peoples posts. Honestly with that kind of attitude I can come back and say with your 12GB of system mem you'd never encounter these kinds of problems and yet you still act harshly to those who are tyring to make a valid point with the problems they are facing. FYI my system is on par with yours excluding the excess ram

This^^^^^

Just because something doesn't drastically effect YOU, doesn't make it efficient or intelligent, and it certainly doesn't make it necessary.

Since you CLEARLY don't have any understanding of how computers work and seem to think that if you just buy expensive parts and put them together, there will be magical goodness and all will be fine until next upgrade season, let me give you something you can more easily understand:

You are a college student who also works off-campus and lives at home. You have a car, but it is ONLY capable of driving you between school and work, and another is ONLY capable of going between work and home and a third is only capable of between home and school. Sure, you COULD just tow the other 2 cars around at all times, and it would ONLY take you a few min of extra time each time you want to switch paths, and if your "cars" are all semis without trailers, it wouldn't be MUCH of a MGP toll, but WHY WOULD YOU WANT THAT?! Why would you chose to jump through all those hoops and deal with all the inefficiency when you could just buy one car that drives anywhere?
