I'm in a cafe right now with my laptop actually, so I can ssh in at home and check it out, but AFAIK I'm running Catalyst (fgrlx) 10.10 latest with all of the lib32 packages updates.
Kwin hasn't caused any problems beyond the resizing problem we had a few releases ago. The fedora team released a patch and the arch guys ported it. It was a custom version of xorg-server.
Right now I'm running vanilla xorg-server with no testing repos. This is with the sig rig.
Let me know exactly what problems you're having, post your xorg.conf, and we'll get started. I've become pretty good at tweaking ATI cards in Linux (trial by fire my friend!)
I would go ahead and install unigine heaven to test your3d performance, and I'll have to get back with you on packages to install in order to get the best tear-free HD video playback.
Since I fixed my tearing I've been watching Battlestar Galactica in style baby!
Ok, I just ssh'd in. Here are my installed packages:
[l33@waterbeast ~]$ sudo pacman -Q |grep catalyst
PM me if I forget to check this thread later, but I'll help you out when I get home. I don't have remote ssh X tunneling set up at the moment so I can't stress X very easily via command line.....Edited by binormalkilla - 11/13/10 at 2:47pm
