I am really thinking of switching (back) to openbox. Gnome 3, although nice isn't cutting it for me. It's just not very easy to customize and there are virtually no themes for it. I am working with a broken Elegant Brit theme that doesn't quite work, and I just absolutely hate the default Gnome 3 theme.

WHY DID YOU TAKE MY GNOME 2 AWAY???

Anyways, openbox is fantastically well made, and they actually have a theme that I like (shiki + gnome colors) so I'll probably just switch back.

For now, you can see why Elegant Brit is broken for me frown.gif

At least mozilla based applications, abiword, and openoffice (and a slew of others) don't follow this same trend.

I was wondering if someone would notice that.

Actually it didn't work "out of the box". I had to give it access to some missing Windows fonts and then it worked.

I'm not sure what is the other crap it does. Also I don't know all I did was grab CD1 for Debian 6.0 with KDE and ran it and was able to screw it up with the damn "insert CD for repo" issue. I tried fixing the repo list but that just made it worst. Like deleting the CD or commenting it out of the list made it worse. Never had that happen with Kubuntu. So far 11.04 has been quite pleasant and dare I say better than even 10.10 was. Ubuntu main can go to hell and I won't care as long as they don't screw up Kubuntu or the others.

I'd post my Fedora LXDE setup but it's super plain.

Jolicloud OS 1.2

Completely Chromium over Gnome DE... sounds crazy but its blazingly fast and incredibly smooth! Starts in 8 secs on a 5yo Compaq. This is almost exactly what Google OS will be when released in June.

Makes me wonder who copied who...Linpus or Joli since they look so much alike. Or is it because they are using the same DE?
