Back on topic. I liked the Elementary OS background so I stole it tongue.gif. PcmanFM is being sily by separating the icons a little too much in the grid. I have no idea how to condense them a little more for a more natural look.

I am looking for a way to slick it up a bit. It looks okay... but I want to fix up the panel and the menu so it looks real slick. However, I have no idea of how I'll do it...

Currently, Xfce4 is my desktop of choice. The new KDE and Gnome are getting way too cluttered for my liking.

Define "cluttered"? I only have 3 widgets, a taskbar that is invisible until I dig for it, no icons on my desktop, and a decent notification system. I honestly find KDE's only failing to be a confusing tiling mode. Then again I pretty much consider it the desktop/eye candy DE for me and E17 my entertainment spin and netbook DE. Gnome and Unity have become to me pad/phone/touchscreen DEs while LXDE and XFCE are for nostalgia.

Hello from CFL wave2.gif

Yeah, using KDE right now on Gentoo and it's faaaaast. Can't wait until they release 4.8 stable in the repos (currently it's in testing). Should be any day now. I used KDE3 all the time, KDE4 on and off, but I think I am here to stay. biggrin.gif

The menu system in the new desktops is cluttered. There is no need for it to take 3+ clicks just to launch an application. Sorry I wasn't specific enough, I was pretty vague with my statement, lol.

Ah...well, with Krunner I don't bother wasting time using a mouse much in KDE. In fact it's kind of a secondary thing as opposed to in windows where it's almost all but required.

Wow. Another UCF person?

I'll definitely look forward to 4.8 then but probably won't get it until April and Kubuntu 12.04 (if it's still going to happen).

Ah I see. The benefits of rolling release I guess (though major updates (like KDE3 -> KDE4) is hell on rolling release). smile.gif

How'd you know I go to UCF, I guess since I said I was in CFL and in my profile it says CS Major? But yeah, CS Major over here lol, 3rd year in. You?
