Yeah, I don't like things too minimal. I think it looks ugly and cheap, just as I don't like things too "complicated". It looks overly advanced and a waste of time, plus it's not as relaxing. Since I tend to spend a lot of time on the PC I figured I should have something easy on the eyes and mood.

alright .... uptime contest. smile.gif what do you got?

I think that's a record for me... that's pretty good. The previous three power offs were due to 1) the transformer down the street blew up .. i haven't bought a UPS yet 2) the 3.2 kernel upgrade 3) I bought some water blocks for the GPUs. Had it not been for those three events, I'd be looking at at least 3-4 months pure software stability. Pretty impressive, I am grateful for all of this great software that has been written for me and is freely available. thumb.gif

Currently at 6 days, my record I think is somewhere around ~120. Been too busy messing with the insides lately to keep the desktop going, and just replaced server with a new motherboard/cpu for htpc/server combo, and didn't get a screen of it's uptime.

My work PC has the longest uptime of any PC I use, coming in a bit over a month until I restarted it today (though I probably didn't need to). It's a Windows PC though, so I can't post screenies here tongue.gif

Let's not start posting who is doing the most damage to the environment? Maybe let's see who has the LOWEST uptime as they shut their PC off at night and other times when it's not needed.....rolleyes.gif

Check out load average. His PSU isn't doing a thing. I could power my desktop with solar panels for 24/7 use if I wanted lol. I almost never exceed 200w at the wall. And monitors go into standby at night so not much different than being off.
