PS: Did transhour say he would be able to add choices to the poll or are we stuck with the outdated choices? I want to vote for KDE, LXDE, XFCE, E17.

Final PS...if you have two DEs installed does the one that you first installed get the preference on program configurations because LibreOffice and some other programs I use don't work to well visually in KDE (as in sometimes parts just black out) on my Bodhi install but they look/work visually just fine in E17.

isn't bodhi a *buntu? if you wanted e17 buntu on x64 you could have just install ubuntu (or even ubuntu server) and then installed e17?

my vote now would be xfce (4.8,4.10)and gnome(3.something)

finished fixing dependency issues by the way, and my hatred for Oracle has cemented. I just spent an hour working around virtualbox and its god damm dependencies. madsmiley.png

I only learned about the minimal CD after I installed Bodhi again. Sadly, the future seems uncertain on the server and even the minimal CD as there's rumors flying around that they're planning on dropping both. Still, the whole problem of no hardline access and my stupidity/aptitude towards destroying things when trying to CLI a network connection have me apprehensive about such an install. Give me CLI/terminal for anything but networking stuff. redface.gif

I don't ubuntu servers going anywhere, most of the money they bring in is for the support for the servers.

I know what you mean. networking hates me too.

I think xfce is the best performance/usability right now in linux.

I would disagree- a standalone wm customized by you for you is faster and easyer on memory. it just takes work. but, I did it before and am to lazy to do it just yet, so xfce is a good compromise for me.

I used to use fluxbox w/ everything set to like alt+f for say firefox. no icons at all. I can't remember why I switched. You can customize the hell of xfce also...

Fluxbox is awesome everything is in just a few config files.

This.

Just like my DWM setup for me right now. Many hours worth of making it work for me the way I want exactly and maybe ~60?'ish ( I've lost count and don't have access to my change log while my desktop is down, except for an older copy from my local Git ) different patches and hacks to get it this way.

in openbox I went a little crazy on the pipemenus and spent hours configuring that thing to the unth degree. my menu.xml was like my conky- contunuely tweaked and reworked 24/7
