I can provide help in PM (because that's off-topic). I've been involved in the devlopment of a few viewers already (Kirstens, Firestorm somehow, Nirans Viewer, helped testing X64 Singularity, gave some hits for Dolphin, etc)

Here's what I do.

If I could run a movie and a paper at the same time I'd be screwed because my GTX275 only does half of the VDPAU work making my CPU do the rest. Plus, I'd just watch the movie instead of anything else. biggrin.gif But yeah, I'm well aware of the KDE monitor control I've never used it with Nvidia GPUs but boy does Xorg hate my HD3000 Intel GPU. IDK what it is, but connecting an external screen to the laptop in my sig is a game of chance. I don't have to hack Xorg...but I have to pray to heathen gods that things will work as I want them. Maybe I'm missing Intel drivers? Wait...actually I do have to hack Xorg sort of as I have to run a script to let the laptop run @ 1080p 60Hz otherwise I can't run at anything beyond the laptop's resolution even though the external monitor are all 1080p 60Hz.

This is the stuff that bothers me with linux it requires configurations and coding configs files etc. This is why it hasn't caught on as an desktop os regardless i still want to try out the new steam for linux as soon as i get these bugs worked out.

Use windows problem solved. No one is begging you to use linux.

I don't recall anyone asking for windows users in the 'Show Your Linux' thread. really, go away.your comment provided no help and is only inciting. no one is begging you post

It gets old when people with 5 minutes of linux experience tell people who have used linux for decades why linux sucks

It gets old when people who have used Linux for decades can't acknowledge Linux's weak points for why it isn't more mainstream. Time to open your eyes, and mind a bit to life.

This coming from someone who's used nothing but Linux since my first computer when I was 9, my whole life is Linux at the age of 24. And I have no problem admitting why it can't be more mainstream. While it certain has matured greatly over the past 5 years alone, it still isn't quite `there` yet.

And he never said `sucks` he said `stuff that bothers him` and `caught on as an desktop os`, not even remotely implying `Linux sucks` as you put it.
