headscratch.gif What is traumatizing about it? It's fast...has all the features of a bigger DE and using less RAM. Are you sure you tried E17 and not the old E16?

Oh I'm actually fine with the default theme and there's a lot to like about E17. What I didn't like was the functionality. It's just not where it should be. It was also slower than Gnome 3 and Unity on my laptop. As it stands I'd rather use something that feels more complete like LXDE or something lighter like FluxBox.

Wow, ok. So I just figured out the graphics card problem that has left me using Windows since about Oct/Nov.

Turns out I forgot to add a # to one of my comments in 10-monitors.conf under xorg.conf.d, so the config file was trying to read my comment as if it actually meant something.


Hair-pulling frustration for months because of a shift+3.

What's up OCN Linux community?

Slower than Gnome3 AND unity?! That's impossible. There has to be something wrong with the package then. What distro are you on? But I am curious what functionality it was missing for you. For me the lack of gadgets on the par of KDE's widgets is the main glaring issue left in my opinion (outside of some minor stability issues).
