Does anyone know why the GTK applications in KDE won't use whatever icon theme I set? :/ How can I make them use KFaenza just like the Qt applications?

You answered your own question there.

I tried it, it didn't work. Or do I need to reboot completely?

You shouldn't need a reboot.
Try GTK style (it installs an applet inside KDE system settings)

Yup. TWM is the default WM in Xorg.

Not sad. Just weird. Even back in the 90s there were better WMs. And by the time Arch was released, there was E17, Sawfish, Metacity (though I was never a fan of that one), and KDE2 had already been out a couple of years.

Where can I find this "GTK style"? It didn't show up in the OpenSUSE repos. A web search didn't turn up anything rather useful, either.

I installed mine from ArchLinux's AUR, but there's a link to the upstream URL which should provide source for you to build from:
https://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/x86_64/gtk-kde4/

Steam and Half-Life both work great, now if only they could get Opposing Force and Blue Shift to install since they run on the same engine anyway.

Still, Steam works, TS3 works, IRC works, Chrome works, I'm all set.

I like the new look, might have to upgrade mine to 12.3. I like the black smile.gif

I would like to setup my lubuntu desktop with an extended display just like that, once i get my linux machine working again. It would always stretch the task bar in to my second screen. I have to think part of it is due to having different res screens.
