Thats Docky. The one dock I rarely use nowadays for some reason

Originally I had used GNOME shell as a dock, but that didn't fair well, I prefer it to the left now, for some reason

My current setup is cinamon with no dock, but I can't decide on what environment to really use.

I love XFCE, but its so basic, and straigh to the point, not to mention I fail to make it as awesome as most people can theme it

Then theres KDE, which I can't ever get into because, it just feels so chunky, like all my apps put on serious weight

Gnome, unity, feel the same, only gnome > unity especially with driver issues i've been having and so on..

There is a recent thread I tarted here Cool Tool regarding screenfetch, how to easily get it on any distro and some command switch values.

Recently discussed there which might be of interest to ZYRO71 is -

If you experience screen tearing in XFce an easy fix is listed with a link to a tutorial video.

There is a combo that has the best of both worlds - XFce with KWin compositor wm. This allows for much more detail and kinds of themes and control over them and only a few libraries are required if you really don't want full KDE . That said, within KWin, and it works in KDE too LOL, you will find that the KDE team artificially makes things feel a little more clunky I suppose as an overreaction to all the hate over initial KDE 4 resource issues. It is trivial to select faster animation and see just what level your system can support and "Instantaneous" is exactly that so whether you stay in XFce, or something else, or try KDE again visit the link in my previous post to see the tutorial or just go to Desktop Effects > Advanced > Animation Speed and try some out.

Innisfil! I used to go karting in Innisfil many years ago. Never would have expected to see an Arch user on OCN from there thumb.gif How's the broadband speed up there?

I got a VPS on the weekend for too good a deal to resist so that's running Debian as a seedbox now (bottom window is the transmission UI), on the left is my local NAS and OMV is also Debian-based. The VPS is actually pretty far away but it's localhost because SSH is voodoo magic thumb.gif
