and is provided as is, without any warranties.




Sound Blaster X-Fi series Support Pack 2.5


Supports the following X-Fi models (for Xtreme Audio, click here):

Windows Security warning during driver installation



When prompted with:
"Windows can't verify the publisher of this driver software" choose "Install this driver software anyway".

MediaSource DVD-Audio Player available for selected models

List of Improvements and fixes

- Adds ASIO and OpenAL support for 64-bit applications.

- THX Console works with Auzentech X-Fi Prelude, Auzentech X-Fi Forte, Auzentech HomeTheater HD and other cards.

- All setup scripts were modified to detect Windows 7.

- Updated many applications and shared components.


Windows MIDI Device Configuration Utility



Use this utility to change the MIDI playback device for 32-bit and 64-bit applications, including Windows Media Player.

I was using the PAX Drivers from Robert McLelland (I think thats his name), he has done wonders in terms of support recently. Although I might try these out. smile.gif

I haven't used the PaX driver since I switched to the driver in X-Fi Support Pack 2.0. Although, the reason was because Support Pack 2.0 came with the Console Launcher.

TwoCables:

64 bit OpenAL and ASIO support were never fully implemented by Creative. A user in the forum had a very long drawn out way to do it, but it seems that Daniel did it first and made it easier for users.
