Not booting after BIOS update

Thread Starter
Today I update my bios on my Asus Sabertooth P67 from 1801 to 1904. After the update it didn't boot into Windows, it just had a black screen with a blinking cursor. I waited 5 - 10 minutes, but nothing happened.

I cleared the CMOS but that didn't work, I restored everything to default but nothing happened, I tried flashing the BIOS to 2001 but that fixed nothing, and I tried booting into the Windows installation CD to see if I could repair. The disk didn't even recognize I had an OS installed, but if I clicked on locate drivers it asked me to browse for it, and I could see my hard drive and everything was still on it. It just wouldn't boot.

I tried some repair things on the OS disk from run, but nothing helped.

The operating system is installed on an OWC 6G Electra 60gb SSD. I can get into the BIOS but nothing else. SATA is set to AHCI, I tried IDE but didn't work. I also tried flashing back to the original 1801 but that didn't fix anything, I'm thinking it did something when I updated. I updated in windows using the ASUS Suite from a downloaded .rom from the official website.

Help?

Did you try another hard drive to see if it was the BIOS conflicting with the hard drive OS?

I have another hard drive as a storage. It is recognized but not bootable since nothing is installed. But since I went back to my original bios--which didn't have a problem booting before I updated--since that didn't work then I don't think it's conflicting with the OS

Reset CMOS, go into BIOS and load BIOS Optimized Defaults, restart, go into BIOS to set the boot drive and PCIe device to first initinialized and AHCI etc?

Edit:

Go into BIOS to check USB is set to available on boot? Check PnP is enable?

Hey, the blinking cursor could be a sign of the OS picking up the secondary HD & trying to boot from it but it can't because its used as storage.
Did you try going into Bios & under the advanced boot up settings, set the primary HD as the first drive to boot from?

Edit:

Does the board has onboard video? Remove EVGA 560 Ti then plug the monitor to onboard video. Give it a try.

My motherboard is a P67, onboard video isen't supported. Graphics card required.

Can you load advanced startup options?
Maybe the boot config file got corrupted which you can fix.
I came upon this error before with a blinking cursor, it was either the boot file was picking the wrong HD to boot from or the boot file was corrupt.
After trying both options, windows would load.
