[Vortez] Lian Li PC-A05FN Review - Page 2

the original A05NB is a EPIC modding case. most people just put in a 120mm-140mm at the top to help with GPU cooling.

some awesome examples of the AN5NB

PB4UGO - COCAINE

Ikem - Project: Citrus

Animal0307 - Lian Li A05N: Air flow to the MAX!!

i got the A05NB and it hold my sigrig nicely. i hate how they changed this to the standerd mobo layout. the flipped design is better

I don't like how this review treats the A05FN as a radical departure for Lian Li. They've been putting the PSU in the front of the original A05 and A05N for years, and they're indisputably Lian Li's most popular case(s).

I hate that Lian Li abandoned the inverted ATX layout that actually made the whole thing possible with the earlier cases. You seldom had to worry about the GPU hitting anything (you might have had to position it around a longer DVD drive), and other interferences were slight.

The A05/A05N were better.

I really dislike that they abandoned the inverted ATX layout too. That was what made the case special. I think they should've added two 120mm fans on the top of the case stock, added USB 3, and paint the insides black.

thinking.gif I don't see what's wrong with it. It's not like this is an epeen HAF case. And even if it was, there's not a window to see the interior. Lian-Li typically doesn't paint the interior except in windowed versions.

That being said the older versions of the A05 were more impressive. This isn't a case I'd seriously consider if I was building a rig today.

Fits everything you need. Nice cable management. Space efficient. Well build and designed, I love the forward mounted power supply. I am a huge fan of this case. 95% of ocners have a meduim size air cooler, single graphics, 1 or 2 hard drives, cd drive, and an ATX motherboard. Perfect.
Looks like I'll be looking for somebody's used older A05 then. frown.gif

They shouldn't have lost the inverted ATX design, that was the selling point to me on this case (well, that and the really small footprint).

Have an A05. Awesome to work with except for its PSU placement. The vents on the front panel are lousy at expelling warm air exhausted from the PSU.
