[ASP] Web Service proxy to calculate tax

Thread Starter
Hey guys, my book is like 8 years old, and I'm working with VS10.
I followed their step to have a vb, an asmx and a DLL file.
Now I want to use it in my main program by simply using this :
New calculate As New calc

My dll name is calc.dll
I should be able to access calc in my code but it says calc is ambiguous ???

I pasted my dll in the bin folder in the root folder.
My book says you shouldn't need any further steps, it should automaticly see the bin folder and "use" the dll inside.
But it's not the case :-/

My DLL is a simple function that receive an amount and add the tax to it.
Very simple, just like my book says, but it's not frown.gif

tl;dr :
DLL file is in BIN, I want to use that dll in my code as a web service Proxy.
I can't access it.

Try renaming the Calc class there might be a class called Calc in the ASP framework

I'm pretty sure there is nothing called calc, otherwise it wouldnt say ambiguous. It would create an instance of calc.

As far as I know you have to add a reference to your calc.dll file. Right-click on the project in VS2010, go to "Add Reference..." and then search for your dll and add it. Now you should be able to use it in your code.
