It's just a good habit to have, so far as very important information like your bank account is concerned.
Let me put this simply for you since you seem to not have the required reading comprehension to do it on your own.

IF something occurs with the info that EA has scanned, there's no way of knowing that it will be able to be tied back to EA in the first place. There's no way of knowing that there will be enough evidence for EA to be held liable in a court of law. There's no way of knowing when the info might be used. Not every hacker does it for the publicity.

A third of fortune 500 companies were hit with a massive hack recently and that includes Wells Fargo, among others and they didn't admit it for 6 months.

And even if possible issues like this don't concern you, why do they need my personal information in order for me to play a game anyways?! Why do they need to scan my hard drive for me to enjoy a product I've paid for?! You need rough statistics about me as a consumer? Fine. You need my PC specs to make better games? Fine, but don't use those issues to hide behind the fact that Origin is scanning my ENTIRE harddrive.

Are you 12? Seriously? Do you know how many hours it takes to work fraud off your credit report? You might only be liable for $50 but it can take YEARS to remove stuff and in the meantime it will cost you in interest rates. Not to mention the fact that collections companies are shady and love to sell your debt even if you've proven you've paid for it or that it was fraud

As much as OCN wants to fight it, age and maturity have a huge correlation and this includes the wisdom and real world experience that people put ( or lack ) into their posts.

This is unacceptable, EA. If it wasn´t for a fix using regedit I still wouldn´t be able to play to this date. bf3.exe has stopped working has yet to be fixed.
