Speaker Upgrade Advice?

Thread Starter
So I've been using an old pair of altec lansing 2.0 speakers for almost a decade and wanting better audio quality for listening to music/watching movies.

Does anyone have any recommendations on a set of 2.1 or 5.1's? Try to keep it under $100 please. Also, will a sound card benefit audio playback at all? or is intel onboard good enough?

Heres what I have so far

logitech z506: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=55970&...cture=Logitech

Logitech z323: http://ncix.com/products/?sku=43722&...cture=Logitech

I know nothing about speakers so help me out a bit, thanks!

sure thing a sound card will help , even a cheap 30$ Xonar DG

as for speakers , logtics (along side with Creative) are not very recommended but if you have to choose between the 2 get those
http://ncix.com/products/?sku=43722&...cture=Logitech

dont expect much out of a 100$ 5.1 set not matter what they are

any way you can also consider the Swan M10 for that price , or those
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16836127004
those are 2.0 so no separate Sub

or the highly recommended Klipach Promedia 2.1 , sadly those are 140-150$

I would check out the M-Audio Studiophile AV 30 for around $90.

If you decide to up your budget, the M-Audio AV 40s can be purchased for about $110-$120.

M-Audio is a very popular option for your price range.

No. Klipsch 2.1.

Oh, budget. They've been on sale for 99 a ton of times. Or buy on eBay.

a 5.1 and has headphone AMP (the best bang for the buck)

i dont have any idea about the Edifer , but the ProMedias are amazing

My Promedias were 120 when I got them a few years ago. Best investment I've made for sound.

Klipach would be great not the best sub bass but very detailed mids and highs. Atleast for the price
