Foam insulation on backplate Required?

Thread Starter
When I installed my Xigmatek SD1283 HDT cooler, I accidently tore off the foam insulation between the mobo and the backplate. Am I fine or should I be worried? I haven't suffered any ill effects so far. Temps seem to be fine, I haven't gone up to/over 50C yet, and idle is at around 35C or 36C @ 4.5 GHZ & 1.35 volts.

Also, I didn't feel like making two threads, but should I purchase the CM Storm Spawn or wait for the Xornet? The Xornet is on CM's site but the cheapest shipping is a whopping 9 bucks from UPS, at that rate I'd be better off with the Spawn, which is about $36 with free shipping on Amazon. However, I'm not really a high-sens user. Should I be worried, does the Spawn have any real limitations to it? I need a new claw-grip mouse, because my Deathadder 1800 DPI has been in use for 3 years & is heavily worn & torn. (Yes, I claw or try to claw the DA.)

Well you wouldn't have temp issues with or without it, its there to stop contact with the metal bracket on the PSB. Luckily it sounds like its not touching anything important.

imo the storm spawn is awesome.
