It's better than losing

hopefully pile driver will come and improve sales

than again, we are the minority for amd. APU"s will be way more profitable for amd in the future than the high end chips.

Than again, the high end chips will get them the server market

Not including software, B2B or server side giants it's pretty typical as far as hardware tech companies go.

They do not. AMD can't really.

Answering the questions:
AMD does not pay out any dividends to shareholders, they don't have the money.
AMD ROE is 46.5%, but their ROE is only ~9.5%, so most of their money is eaten up by debt.
For comparison, Xilinx is 26.6% ROE and 15.5% ROA... a much better return.
Intel has 23.2% ROE and 18.1% ROI (debt taking a very small cut), has been beating predictions for quarters, steadily increasing dividends and buying back shares (destroys them thus increasing the value of remaining shares).

Considering that they're the little guy, far behind the competition and their new dinosaur of a chip isn't exactly a hot shot... yes, that's very good.

Are they? I thought that they were holding as TS for employee options.

This is all thanks to llano. Looks like buying up ATI is finally paying off for amd. Hopefully they can take these profits and invest in processor research so they can compete head to head with intel. It's just a matter of time before intel gets good at graphics too, or buys up a company like nvidia to compete.

By everyone you mean like a third of the enthusiast market which represents a tiny fraction of the entire computing market?

I'd put my bets on AMD Fusion, personally.
