cheap vid card to run movies/blurays/youtube vids

Thread Starter
my borhter is building an i5 rig and does not game, but wants to beable to watch videos, blurays etc.

i was told the onboard gpu of the i5 is good enough, but i was also told he should just buy a cheap vid card and be safe.

so can you guys recomend a cheap vid card that will handle videos (no gamming).

between say $40-100 max.. thanks!!

No idea where they got the idea that the integrated GPU isn't good enough for that, but if you must get a GPU, get this one: HIS 5450. Cheers!

Honestly, I have a 5 year old PC that has an integrated GPU that runs 1080p perfectly fine. My 7300GT is fine as well. If you must, I am sure you can get a GT520 for about $40 or so.

TBH Intel's Integrated graphics should do the trick, If it is an i5 and you run integrated be sure not to get p67.
285 is comparable to the 460. much more powerful, so no comparison. like Raged said, the integrated will suit his needs.
