I can't seem to OC that Q8200 I got it to 2.8GHz before, but that's the best I've ever gotten.

Might be less expensive to go with something like this. Plus you can upgrade when Ivy Bridge comes out.

I would get a nice aftermarket cooler that is compatible with 775 and 1155 mobo's so you can resuse and try to overclock your own processor first. Although with a x7 multiplier it will take some work to get a 3.2GhZ oc.

My Q9650, on a fully watercooled 780i mobo, hit 4.0 GHz at 1.3v and never got over 45C while gaming. Like moparman says - go with a 9550 (x8.5) or 9650 (x9). Huge L2 cache and known oc beasts.

Get any Q9xxx series of CPUs for 775 board. My Q6600 holds up WELL like at around 30-45 FPS on Ultra with my current sigrig. So I'm guessing a Q9xxx CPU overclocked would give better performance.

Go for Sandy Bridge. Look at the benchmarks. It will be worth it for a cheap upgrade!
