BF3 and low GPU usage

Thread Starter
First, let me explain my rig. I play on 1680x1050 Ultra with 4xAA.

My GTX 580 usage is at 99% and CPU roughly 60-70%. My fps is pretty good averaging 50-65.

My brother's computer,
Q9650 stock
GTX 580
DDR2-800 4GB

His GPU usage at 30% with current drivers. (55-60% usage with Beta drivers)
CPU usage at 85%
Playing at 1920x1080 running on high, 2xAA, no HBAO, v-sync off, frames 25-40.

What is going on? People are getting way higher than this at his resolution. We revert back to older drivers and nothing, same fps.

I would assume it would be a CPU bottleneck if it was +95%. But it's around the 80's.

There must be another issue.

But you have a 980x. I want to see someone with a 775 quad/similar setup and see what FPS they get. A 30-60% GPU usage is pretty bad on a GTX 580.

Check my sigrig. CPU runs lowest while in-game around 95% and GPU maxes at 100% usage.

Thanks. Your Quad running at 2.4 and 100% GPU usage is what it should be, something is definitely wrong with my bro's comp.

Now does anyone have any idea what is wrong here? I know the 200 and 400 series had this problem with BC2.

Do a driver sweep in safemode, restart, then reinstall drivers
