acemd2 crash on gtx590

post #1 of 6
Thread Starter
I've started crunching for Einstein@home and GPUGRID again after laying off for summer with my new EVGA GTX590 but I've noticed I'm getting crash notices for "acemd2_6.15_windows_intelx86_cuda31". I stop then start Boincmgr but I was wondering shouldn't I have two of these instances running under procex64 since I have a dual graphics card? I'm running 280.26 WHQL drivers, windows 7 64bit, intel i7 930, 6gigs triple mem. Any ideals?

Little less overclocks for cpu and gpu. See if that helps.

You need cc_config.xml with these in it to use both gpus:
<cc_config>
<options>
<use_all_gpus>1</use_all_gpus>
<report_results_immediately>1</report_results_immediately>
</options>
</cc_config>

I agree, try new projects at stock speeds. For instance, QMC is super sensitive to any minor overclock that isn't performing perfectly in all ways. Also, check your memory parameters in BOINC, should be set high enough to use all the memory possible without thrashing the Virtual Mem.

OK thanks, I've dropped to stock speed both cpu and gpu and I'm more stable. BTW @Aleksipoika
I'm a newbie at this but what folder do I save this file too?

I might also mention that Collatz is tons sensitive to the Nvidia Sticky Downclock problem... that's why it's best to run the 266.58 drivers.
