how much Vram? - Page 2

Looks like it still needs more than 1 GB. Look at the 1 GB 560Ti and 2 GB 6950 min FPS difference.
560Ti SLI is not good idea for BF3. 6950 CF will be perfect for Ultra.

It's more than just system memory mate, but VRAM is the only topic of discussion with regards to BF3. So i'm kinda surprised i'm the only one saying this...i also thought it was a buffering technique originally, now i'm not so sure.

I feel this was a cleverly rehearsed "glitch"

This game is marketed in such a way that everyone worries about their hardware capabilities. And huge numbers have upgraded for it's release.

Running out of VRAM?
Buy our 3GB GTX 580 "SLI 580's will be enough" <---remember that quote?

Also you need to remember SB-E is being shipped with a Free copy of BF3 special edition. Coincidence?

I could be ranting nonsense, but i feel this game was and is the largest mass upgrade transition we have seen since Crysis. Marketing at it's best.

I need to step away from the bong. All this is making me paranoid.

WOW, Some heavy stuff getting thrown around this thread. So I have no way of deciding how much to turn my settings down or up. All I want is the game to run smooth with great looking graphics. Is that too much to ask since I just dropped over 1500 Bucks on my Sig rig upgrade just to be able to play this game maxed out??

It will run it smooth with great looking graphics, but it won't max it out. I left it on default settings which was everything high, hbao on, antialiasing and anisotropic on etc. and it runs perfectly, smooth as anything and haven't seen one noticable fps drop yet.
