Need to Benchmark My AMD Processor!

Thread Starter
I just got AMD's A8-3850 a few months back, and Iam finding it to be extremly slow, in comparison to even an dual core celeron LGA775.

It seems to take along time to launch applications, and hangs on simple things like installations of basic programs. I have 8GB of Cosair vengence, and GTX260 card in it.

Anyway I am looking for an Bechmarking Program to see If my Processor is Performing accordingly.

If it's running slower than a dual celeron....and you're serious.....Then it must be broken...

If you want to bench it, I guess you can use any of the software that the review sites use, head on over to anandtech.com or tomshardware, see what software they benched the A8 - 3850 with, and then use it on yours.

You could also run Prim95 to see if all the cores load up to 100% as expected, but I'm not sure what that will prove other than all cores are working.

Yea I am Serious, I bought an cheap celeron 2.4Ghz E3200 around christmas last years just to have a second computer at the house. My Main was an i7 920.
My AMD, I didnt expect it to be as fast as my i7 , but iam relatively sure the E3200 with 2GB ddr2, is running faster then my new A8 3850.

So thanks for the help.

No problem, I was a little stunned myself. If you run Prime 95, make sure to run the memory test too. That way you can see if your memory is maybe faulty. Also, what are the rest of the specs.

RAM
Mainboard
Graphics Card
OS

With that, plus your bench results and Prime95 people will be able to help you easier!

I don't see why it should run slow then...What did the Bench results say?

return GTX260, get AMD 6670, Hybrid Crossfire.

^ This. These CPUs are great. Don't get me wrong they aren't the fastest but they are pretty good and should kick the crap out of the Celeron dual cores.
