It's kinda old. Gonna upgrade the video card to a GTS450.

AMD Athlon X2 6000+ 3.1GHz
4 gigs of ram
ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe
600w power supply
Windows 7 32bit
etc.

Medium? You'll be playing on low buddy. Welcome to the club. Even with a quad core, the 9800GTX+ still isn't enough. These older cards we're using just aren't scaling well with Frosbite 2.0. You'd probably see a bigger boost getting the card for now that handles dx10 and 11 better, then going for a CPU upgrade.

GTS450 is not a good card for BF3. It is more demanding then BF2.

I would be lucky if I can max it out.

See the Nvidia excerpt below.

With a GTS450, you will be able to run BF3 with Low setting and at 1280x1024 or 1280x720 (maintaining the aspect ratio with black borders at top and bottom). Note this is a reduction from your 22'' WS Viewsonic native 1680x1050.

With a GTX260, you will be able to run with Medium setting and at 1680x1050 (exactly matching the native resolution of your monitor).

Frankly, an upgrade from 9800GTX+ to GTS450 is not very significant. I suggest a GTX260 at the very least.
