Will my computer run BF3? - Page 2

itll run, bump the res down for medium.

He doesn't need to run SLI or Crossfire to play BF3. A single 6870/GTX560 will max this game out at 1680x1050 with no problems. Obviously, he doesn't have alot of cash to spend on components being he's considering a GTS450 as an upgrade..so recommending crossfire/sli is just nonsense.

The cards I recommend you to shoot for if your budget allows is atleast a 6850. If you can throw in a little more, get yourself a 6870 or a GTX 560, they'll hold you over for a couple years and are atleast twice as powerful as your 9800GTX+

I can afford at most a 6790. Do you guys think with my setup, i will be able to run it?

I think my old mobo/cpu are the main problems...

man it would be an improvement but not enough to make a big diffrence

yes, on low settings. Check out the marketplace for a gpu deal.

6850 or 460. Upgrading your cpu won't do anything, as far as I have seen the game isn't actually very cpu dependant. It does like over 4 gigs of ram though, and loves to eat video cards for breakfast.

Question; Why 4GB of ram and only 32bit?

If you cant afford a 6850 right now, i advise you to save until you can. Get anything under that wont really justify the cost.
