Last minute decision 2500k or 2600k

Thread Starter
Im going today to buy 2600k or 2500k and still can not make up my mind. I mostly game and do enjoy oc and benchmarks but most of what I do is game, very seldom do any photo or video editing. Can get the 2600k at MC for $279 or the 2500k for $179 and I have the money for either one. This will be cooled with a H100 . Just cant decide.Help..........

If you don't fold or do photo/video editing get the 2500k. If you want HyperThreading (does not improve gaming performance and increases temps) then get that.

2600K helps a bit in benching.

If it was me, I'd get the 2600K. If you don't, you might regret it afterwards.

I'd get the 2600k, it doesn't look to me like $100 will make or break your bank. HyperThreading helps in some cases/applications, and having an i5 just seems less amazing than having a i7.

When in doubt, epeen always wins.

Unless you plan on video editing, folding, or heavy benching get the 2500k

Then get the 2600k if you want higher benches, they do like HT in some cases. But your 950 @ 4.2 is competent enough for today's games.
