MCP too hot! Help

Thread Starter
Hello friends. I have the current specs from my sig.
I had a 9600GT before and i purchased a few days ago a GTS 450 gpu to replace my older card. I installed my new graphics card into the PCi-Ex slot then i reinstalled windows 7 x64..after that the drivers etc. standard procedure.
When i had my 9600gt and my old windows 7 x64 the MCP stood at 51-54C, now it's dead still at 65C and 67-70C if i play games or use CAD software. The radiator is so hot i can't even hold my hand on it for more than a seccond. The room temperature is always the same, the case is always open, the video card doesn't generate heat, the CPU is runing cold (maxim 38C in full load)
Can you, please, explain to me what is rising my MCP temp ?

SB: nForce 630a

I don't have any fans pushing air into the rad. It's just a crappy little radiator (looks like copper, but i don't guarantee). But why before it stood at 51-54?
My case is opened.

What rad is it?

You should always have fans on the rad to cool it down, I got a 360mm rad with 3 fans pushing air into it to keep it cool.

Okay but why before the temp were lower ? I know what i should have a fan. If i put one it will stay at the 54C, but i never had a fan on it...why now ? What encreased my temps..
The radiator is in the picture below

Oh right I thought you meant a water cooling rad.

Thats a heat sink, but never mind got you now.

If you feel confident enough take the heat sink off clean it up and re-apply some new thermal paste.

Stock tim is rubbish, I always change mine as soon as I get the board takes 2 mins and means it lives longer. smile.gif

If you can try and get a fan to blow cool air over the heat sink, even if it blows over it to get at the gpu.

Hmm i have a spare little fan (but very powerful and silent) and i can super-glue it on my mcp heatskin rolleyes.gif I don't think that a 50$ mobo worths a 30$ new heatskin.
As for TIM i have some ceramique paste that i can apply for now. I know it's not the best TIM solution..
