Battle Field 3 and GTX590 SLI Low FPS an other issues

Thread Starter
hey all, im sure most of us are checking out BF3.

so first things first checkout Nvidia for any latest drivers, O checkit out, there is a new one, so then go through the whole migmarole of uninstalling old drivers, going into safe mode, using driver sweeper to make sure all Nividia drivers are cleaned out, bla bla bla the usual noncence, and install new drivers, Ok cool Drivers sorted

after Origin sorted their game authentication issue out, I was pretty eager to try the game out. Logged in, only to find game playes in windowed mode, ok no bigy, set to full screen mode adjust screen resolution ..... >... click on 'Apply' nope still in window mode, ok alt tab, alt tab, nope still in window mode.

anyways, after alt tabing it seems to eventually come right for some reason

next problem

ok so iver got a machine that benches 42k+ points in 3DMark Vantage, so in theory my machine should be able to handle perdy much anything you throw at it..... right. if only it was that easy

biggest problem is that im getting terribly low fps, set settings to ultra and get 2fps im like ***.

set settings to high and get 20 fps um like what....

set settings to medium get 35 +- frames a second cant be

ok granted im running 3 monitors with Nvidia sterioscopic 3D surround
(the 3D isnt working in game so that another issue ima talk about)

i have tried the follwoing:

set physics to cpu - no difference
set physics to auto - no difference

disable stereoscopic 3D from Nvidia control panel - no difference

overclocking my two GTX590's up, clocking them back down - no difference

by this time im going comon WTH...

i never had these issues with the beta release, it ran like a dream at 120fps on HIGH ***

so after much research, and plenty hours of wasted game play, im posting here in the hope that somebody has an idea or suggestion i can try.

O few other non to important but relevent details.

GTX cards bios flashed as per very good post
http://www.overclock.net/nvidia/1063...ng-thread.html

cards slightly over volted, but only a tad enouph to run stable at current overclock 700 / 1400 / 1800
cards run max temp of 88 deg
cpu is bearly ticking over at 35% utilization (no bottle neck there) thats one of the first things i looked at
2600k clocked to 4.5G stable
Win7 x64 (legal) all updates done
Nvidia drivers 285.62

if there is anything else you wana know let me know.

to any and all that read my shplab, i thank you in advance for any and all assistance.

Turn off hyperthreading and disable Vsync.

If you get low frames Its mainly because when you sli gtx590s you only get 1.5gb of video RAM shared

If he was using them in surround, yes.

Also, 3D is not actually enabled in Battlefied 3 yet which, is why it was removed the other day.

The biggest issue is hyperthreading because it actually decreases performance in the game itself rather than makes it zoom zoom.

how can we enable and disable the hyper threading?

It's a BIOS feature. Look under CPU configuration, or something similar.

hey guys thanks for the feedback , but after disabling the hyperthreading in the BIOS, this has unfortunately not done much or as expected, ok maybe an extra 5fps (but this could be for any reason) but that's not significant at all.

any other suggestions.

What if you disable SLI and only use one card? Is it playable then?

Is this for games in general? I think I will try this to see what kind of a difference I see in other games.
