[Tech Spot] Battlefield 3 GPU & CPU Performance - Page 8

For me it runs amazing with only minor bugs that can be fixed with future updates and better drivers. Now i say to you all go and enjoy the game and forget about fps because in the end of the day its how much fun you have not how much fps you got.

I agree that FXAA looks pretty good when actually playing the game in motion.

The point for me is if you max out the game the 580's are clearly superior. If you don't see a need for msaa that's fine, but you aren't technically maxing out the game and there fore can't claim that the AMD cards rival the performance of the nvidia cards at maximum settings...

You are right... Scoreboard is scoreboard and msaa hits AMD HARD. There are some that are state 4XMSAA is cutting performance in half.

Its going to be interesting to see how the chips ultimately lay one BF3 receives performance patch and drivers become mature.

My guess is that you will be surprised how it ends up.

i dont feel like posting this in news since its so similiar to this article but gruru3d posted their bf3 performance / comparison article and show a 560ti beeting out a 6970 at ultra.

If that doesn't throw up red flags about optimization what does?

What is HQ textures they used if the first table?
@ Majin SSJ Eric

Once they fix the AA problem and HD 6970 matched GTX580 in every way What will you say then? Nvidia drivers are better, Nvidia fan-boys always seem to come up with excuses for their overpriced GPUs. On top of all this i am close to maxing out the game then you are will AA. Buy a 2560 x 1600 monitor and then you are closer.

It has nothing to do with drivers, if that was the case AMD had ample time to prepare better ones for review. Same thing with tessellation, Nvidia cards are just better in that aspect...To this day AMD has yet to release a driver that improves tessellation performance with its 6000 series....

Wow, what a way to argue by switching points in the middle.

For msaa it could very well be a driver issue. One of the articles (Toms, techspot, guru3d or bit tech) made a comment about the fact that amd believedmtheir driver was working swimmingly for bf3 and the 212mb day one patch might have broke it.

On the tesselation front, you have no prove that AMD or Nvidia is better or worse at tis juncture in BF3.
There's a rumor going around that AMD is calling in the Bulldozer team to sort this issue with MSAA.

Still trying to decide between 2560x1600 or 120hz monitor next....
