I don't know how many times this has to be said, but really, do some research before you post misinformation like this. The Engine is completely New, kinda like Frostbite 2 vs Frostbite 1. I like how noone criticizes that.

So much blind hatred in these forums.

BTW, how was BF3 on LAUNCH!? OH YEAH, you couldn't play it!

JK... but not really.
It may be called IW5, but for most of us, it still looks like mw2.5. Completely new? It still looks the same. But yeah, you really cant say that MW3 is using a completely different engine. Just look at the graphic detail of Frostbite 2, now that's what we call "Completely New". What did the creators of mw3 do? I heard they "added" new water physics or something. Really? Yep. Water. A-ma-zing.

BTW I was talking about graphic optimization for the pc release of mw3, how did Battlefield 3 relate to this topic?

actually no, IW lost 20 something employees when West and Zimpala left. So the person who said that the IW of MW3 isn't the same as the old IW is correct.

BF3 relation has to do with previous posts regarding Optimization and Engines. Anyways, Frostbite 2 is a "New" Engine in the same way IW5 is a "New" Engine. They're all based on previous Engines, but with major overhauls/rewrites, so they are indeed "New" and that's a GOOD thing.

MW3 should run darn good for you. Black Ops coding was terrible, but judging from MW2 and Infinity Ward's work, MW3 should play like a dream!

Ratjack: It's good you were able to play. I wasn't, and neither was anyone in my area. I played a bit today before work and it was AWESOME, but 30mins isn't enough time, sadly.

I don't have the luxury of buying consoles just to play one of my most anticipated games of 2011. I'd rather play it on my so-so-ok gaming pc where I feel more comfortable at. But the doubt of it being optimized due to the fact of how its predecessor(?) Black Ops performed on my pc is questionable.

Knowing that they'll just use an old, modified engine gives a reason that it'll run on great on budget pc's, but why didn't Black Ops did the same? It ran like horse s***. I just don't wanna waste another 60$ just to see its performance on my pc flunk and turn into a f****** slideshow.

I was able to play BF3 hours before official launch. I played it just fine without much hiccup either. The only hiccup was because I had outdated drivers.

The only difference between IW4 and 5 is they rewrote the remaining Quake 3 code and made it their own full engine. Besides what they call "better lighting" there is no difference in engines. You really can not compare IW4-IW5 to FB1-FB2.

Lol. Black ops wasn't optimized? How was I getting 91 Fps ( maximum I believe) on my old 9600gt?
Stop typing bull**** and calling it fact. I have never had a problem running any games in the COD series and MW3 will be no different.
Btw I run BOPS on 24x AA with super sampling on with my 6970 and still get 91 Fps.

What, how does a game become not optimized because it doesn't use the the newest DirectX?

Source engine is a perfect example, doesn't use DX10/DX11 but is the most optimized engine out right now.

You're making this into an Apples-to-Oranges argument. Do you know what is involved in rewriting an Engine? There is not "minor" adjustments to go from IW4 to IW5, just like FB1 to FB2. They are OVERHAULS.

Do some more research. The Quake Engine is actually no more, and hasn't been. In 3-4yrs (guesstimate) when BF4 or BF5 comes out and they're using FB3 Engine and they overhauled it, doesn't have exploding bodyparts and other misc features, will you still say it's a "NEW" Engine, or will you continue to say it's no different?

As I said previously, they're both New Engines.

LOL. This thread is full of BF Fanboys who have to come in and talk smack when their game of choice is having issues.

I (will) play both. BF3 is ok, but when MW3 comes out, I'll definitely be playing that more if it's anything like (or better) than MW2.
