AMD is forced to charge less for their desktops parts and discount their old CPU's. It's not like they're doing so out of the goodness of their hearts...

Hopefully, you guys forgot your sarcasm tags. Pre-launch prices from a random Chinese website with photoshopped logos, pics from other websites, and incorrect spec information are not representative of post-launch retail prices.

Weren't they also suggesting that even the non-K variants could be overclocked via a CPU Clock Rate multiplier (1.25, and 1.66 or similar)?

Isn't the 3820 supposed to cost around the same as the 2600K...? It's like double on that site... ( and that one isn't unlocked either... )

Amd charges less because they can't compete in performance. We haven't seen anything yet. Wait till overclocked 8 core Sbe benches get out.

Its been stated for over a year that hardware is going to be expensive. Maybe not this expensive, but there won't be any $200 CPUs or motherboards.
