Good and Cheap 1156 mobo!!

Thread Starter
hello guys,

i was thinking of changing my current crappy mobo to something better.....

can u guys suggest me the cheapest mobo which primarily has these features:

1)sli@8x
2)oc at least 4ghz
3)multiple raids....(0,1..)

usb3 and sata 3 r added benefits but not necessary.....

and i don't mind companies like biostar and asroack..but i prefer asus and gigabyte(msi is a strict no-no)....
smile.gif

Edit1: if the above combo is not available then sli n oc capability is my major priority....

Edit2: if possible pls provide the link as well as the price too for the product smile.gif

Edit3: actually i dont buy from newegg( ) im from india....evga availablity is not good here.....

so i prefer asus and gigabyte which are widely available and aftersales service is gud....

so i just wanted to make a list of viable options.....

honestly, i'm not sure you can find that combo. the asus one is the closest it got :-(

a vast majority of them are micro atx, so it's pretty tough to include sli

Most of those mobos are pretty expensive if you buy brand new, but [ame="http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-P55-Micro-Mainboard-121-LF-E652-KR/dp/B002N2Z05I"]my mobo on Amazon[/ame] is fairly cheap, for the features, if you don't mind SATA II and USB 2.0 only. Hell of an OC'er, can do RAID 0/1/5/JBOD, and x8/x8 SLI. SATA II is more than good unless you're using truly high speed SSD'd (and even with SSD's transfer rates aren't too bad) and USB 3.0 is still not too widely available.

Even the kings of 1156, the ASUS Maximus III GENE/Formula mobos are only USB 2.0 and SATA II. Only mobo that has all those capabilities you look for is the ASUS Maximus III Extreme, but the cheapest one i see is nearing $300, on both the Egg and Amazon. The GENE tends to be fairly cheap and has improved features over my mobo, if you do not mind open box.

Then get my mobo. For $110 BNIB you cannot beat the features. Also that open box Maximus III GENE is pretty nice (the sound card is vastly better than any stock since it's Creative X-Fi) but yea, it's not BNIB.

EDIT: You could also get an Open Box ASUS P7P55 WS SuperComputer with x16/x16 SLI, SATA II and USB 2.0, but yea, it's $180.
