Buying new earbuds, one that last longer than a year plz - Page 2

Do you have a particular price in mind and intended use for the earbuds?

Personally as I don't usually use my buds for much other than working out and walking about town, I prefer something cheaper and something that I won't lose sleep over if I break.

For the past couple years I've been using the JVC Marshmallow earphones and have been really happy with them. They offer a great seal, they come with a number of different sized buds and are very cheap, and have a nice sound quality to them in my opinion.

Sure, they may not rival more expensive buds, but I can honestly say they are the most durable buds I've had. I'm on my third pair at the moment and the reason for replacing them was actually because the in ear attachement is made of a foam which you can press together to "mould" it for your ear.

Over time and because the use of the headphones was at the gym the mouldable ear piece got quite grubby. I decided to replace the earphones rather than keep using the dirty ear piece.

You do get a set of spare ear pieces in the pack, and while they seem to be very similar one of them is slightly thicker which for me fit much better. I actually use the second slightly thiner pair on another set of in ear headphones which I use at home and have been using the thinner pair for a year or so with no ill effects.

Hope this helps.

as i look for your recommendations, and watching some reviews on youtube, i found out that there are 3 types of options.

high bass
high treble
and high both

i think people think that a great sound quality is when they sound nit with not much bass static, you hear your music extremely nit with no extra bass, just a normal amount.

there are others that think that i high bass and less treble, is when you have great buds that sound bum bum bum in your ears, and may feel like they have 2.1 ear buds

and the last one is the hardest to find, when you have insane quality of trebles and a great bass that doesn't make static or noise that compromise sound quality.

what i'm looking for is the third type, i was use to the 2nd one, as the skullcandy sounded like that, using the Rock EQ from the ipod.

hey huys, what do you think about the brand AKG ? looks like it could have good quality earbuds, like the K328 K330 and K350

but if something else doesn't take my attention away i'll buy the Ludacris SL49, looks good, found good reviews, it has flat cable, has L shape mini plug... and its about 70 bucks on bestbuy

but again is a shot in the dark.

Don't disregard these because of the low price. These are IEM's have the best sound isolation of any earbud I've ever used, have incredible sound quality, and literally cannot fall out of your ears. You could probably do gymnastics with these in your ears with no problems.

found the link for these
Amazon.com: Pure Sound Hi-Definition 8mm Stereo Earbuds: Electronics

I use no other headphones after purchasing these. Best thing I have ever owned.

Holy crap does that have good reviews. I was about to pick me up some cheap earbuds from Hori and Sony for my Nintendo 3DS and mp3 player. I've never had a problem with the $10-20 pairs but the thing is they break a lot so I have to buy warranties with them. Instead I'll take that money and get two of these. The lifetime warranty sealed the deal. Thanks! May you have a Rep!

SkullCandy has one of the worst product lifespan in the world. Look for Ultimate Ears. I got the 400vi and they sound amazing for the price. Have been using Audio Technicas, JVC, before going UE 2 years back. And has never swayed from that brand since. Build quality is superb as well. I am definitely not the gentlest of users and am really surprised my 400vi are still working after close to a year. For average users, it lasting 2 years at least shouldnt be a problem.

i find out, the bestbuys where i was going to buy my earbuds, are very limited, all around Orlando FL, so i choose to buy this 2, cos i'm not going to go all-in with just one mid-high end headphone.
the only whey i'm gonna spend 80 bucks on a headphone is if first i've tried.

Skullcandy - Titans
House of Marley - Jammin' Earbud

PS: my dad is going to the US, not me smile.gif
