While the test was extremely narrow in regards to applications, im very pleased with the outcome!

A tangible 10-20% increase in certain circumstances.

Heres to hoping windows can wise up

I wonder if had AMD labled the cores more like:

Module 1: Core 0 + Core 4
Module 2: Core 1 + Core 5
Module 3: Core 2 + Core 6
Module 4: Core 3 + Core 7

if it would have helped. This is all conjecture as that's not my branch of engineering. But it makes sense in my mind that Windows would have been able to better schedule for the cores in that case.

Edit: Granted it still wouldn't be all that competitive, as even when fully loaded up it would perform the same, hence no better then current x6 offerings.

i think just looking the bios if you board has core control will tell you module is what.

how ever i set affinity on my X6 on taskmanager to core 0 and core 2 and
in core temp it came up core 0 and core 4 O_o.

There is likely some performance to be had by changing the way the scheduler prioritizes thread vrs cores and cache hierarchy. Nothing earth shattering though.

Agreed, while this will help a little (apparently 10-20%) in single threaded activity, you're still going to have the exact same results when all cores are saturated, meaning nothing better then current x6's for multi-threading.
