I can already see apple suing everybody for having similar designs to there's....

i have an idea though, somebody should patent the "TV Shape" if you will call it, somehow forcing apple to make non rectangular tvs

Or we will see mass production of round televisions, because apple have invented shape of current TVs.
Yes, the blueprints will be found in some garage with apple all over it.
Yep. Apple will probably patent the "screen with images on it".

If Google was making a voice controlled TV, I'd wager half of the people in this thread would be praising it...

Yes this will probably be expensive. So what? The current state of TV's is horrible. Why should I have to have a pile of remotes? Apple makes a voice controlled TV that actually works, and competitors will follow. And no, they won't patent the competition out. Android anyone? Apple proves the market exists, and the competition will drive prices lower and enhance the product offering.

I find it hilarious that people are actually bashing this.

And what if you have a bunch of whiny 2-5 year olds wanting to watch kids programs while you are watching something. Or if you are watching something and they walk past the room and shout "TV off" or something similar. TVs you have to talk to, to control is a horrible idea.

Google "Siri Engrish" and watch a few videos...
I can't post it because at one point, it turns "work" into the F bomb. It's hilarious, but that TV would be busted so quick. I don't care who makes it.

I can't imagine you simply talk to the TV. More likely there would be gesture activation, a small simple remote with a built in mic, or you use your iPhone. My iPhone has an app called Remote which links to iTunes on my PC over wifi. The entire thing is automatic and works wonderfully. I can be in my bedroom and turn on some music in my living room before I even get out of bed. There is no setup involved beyond punching in a 4 digit linking code the first time you use it. After that it's 100% seamless.

I only have 1 remote for my TV...

I think people are bashing apple because they stifle competition and innovation. They release subpar products or overpriced products. If a lot of people buy that stuff, the people who actually innovate and try to bring things to the next level don't get seen.

patenting shapes and absurd features monopolizes their products and stops innovation. As a forum based around technology, I can fully understand why there is hatred for apple. We love technology and we want to see it evolve as much as possible. Apple is slowing that down.
