honestly... I trust Apple to make a fantastic interface to bring in the era of "smart TV's"
So far, nobody is stepping up and creating a seamless interface. Everybody is dragging their feet because there's no competition.

Apple... PLEASE bring us a sweet user experience for our viewing pleasure.

Anybody saying it's going to be super expensive... get with the times. Apple's prices have become alot more competitive lately and while they'll never allow themselves to sink into the low-end market, they will deliver a solid products that all users can enjoy without "milking" them for all their worth. Don't expect a 42" $500 apple TV. They'll make a premium set, and sell it at a premium price.

Honestly, if they can deliver, I will buy. Until then, I am happy with my $370 42" Insignia plasma.

as always though... haters gonna hate.

good god, someone who actually uses logic when posting in a thread about apple +1 to you sir for being the few people who didnt go

"i bet apple is gonna patent the tv next"

"i bet apple fanboys will be all over this"

lol but i do agree though, apple has really seamless interfaces, maybe their presence in the market will finally create some good ol competition

Unless it has a DirecTV receiver built in or a way to control my satelite receiver it will be useless as I would still need a remote to control my receiver. And to take it a step further, it needs to control the home theater sound system too, and the blu ray player, and Tivo.....all by voice of course. If they want to take it to the next level....they need to take it to the next level, otherwise its just another tv.

I don't know about the first few things but I'm almost positively certain that it won't support Blu Ray, it might do TiVo considering it does do NetFlix (unless TiVo is different, don't know too much about it) however Apple may end up replacing Netflix with their own streaming service.

The Cinema Display really is just a rebranded LG monitor with an aluminum casing and Apple logo.
Steelbom is correct in saying that it's not really a rebrand. The Ultrasharp series that share the same H-IPS panel use wide gamut CCFLs while the ACDs use W-LEDs for a backlight. The W-LEDs helps create that slimmer profile and are more energy efficient, but they have a slightly smaller gamut.

This with the lack of a OSD make the newer ACDs less desirable by professionals that need the color accuracy. Though, most consumers wouldn't notice the difference.

LG makes the IPS panels for the ACDs. Samsung produces OLED, TN, and VA panels.

That's a bit of a stretch to believe. I use both iOS5 and Android 2.3.4 everyday, I'm not seeing a resemblance at all.
