Prime95 not max turbo'ing my 2500k

Thread Starter
Any ideas why Prime95 does not max turbo my 2500k (4.4ghz) ? I am using the "In-place large FFTs" test, but the blend test has the same effect. It will momentarily get to max but then it throttles down to ~4ghz and stays that way. I have to use IntelBurn to max turbo for testing...

2500k
AsRock Extreme3 Gen3 Z68
Turbo multiplier 44

Thank you!

Set up a custom run with in-place FFT and 8k size for min and max FFT. Set it to 60minutes for each FFT size. see if that helps any. (can also test particular FFT's if it keeps failing say 512k but you dont want to wait 45minutes to get that far.)

A blend of both is desirable but IBT will usually find issues quicker than prime will... And sometimes prime will BSOD when IBT completes just fine...

I seemed to have fixed it by changing the short and long duration PL to 220 and 200. I'll let it run Prime95 for a while now.

Thanks!

Does your mobo have an overcurrent setting? My Asus mobo lets me change the max amount of power my CPU is using, yours could be throttling based on the max of 95w if you haven't enabled anything like that.
