Budget?

Do you need a mic?

Do you want the headphones for music? What kind of music?

Less than 200? Get some Ultrasone Pro 550s or Ultrasone HFI-780s with a zalman clip on mic. Much, much better than any headset on the market. Both headphones have a good sound stage and great bass. If you dont care about bass and just want sound stage then get the Audio Technica ATH-AD700s with the mic.

The Sennheiser HD555s have much better bass and soundstage than the ultrasones or AD700s. The ultrasonses and AD700s have a mediocre bass at best, but the AD700s have great clarity for classical and guitar music if you are in to that sort of thing.

The HD555s are a great pair of cans, and I can wear them for hours. You wouldn't be disappointed.

HD555s have a smaller sound stage. The difference is pretty obvious too; however, some gamers prefer it because the footsteps and whatnot are less accurate, but more apparent at times. They have a much more in your face front stage presentation.

The AD700s are for if you don't care about bass and just want the ultimate gaming headphones under 170.

The Pro 550s are good for gaming, not excellent, but they also offer bass and are very usable for many genres of music. The AD700s are very limited in the music you can genuinely listen to appropriately.

If you're fine with that, don't care to listen to music with them and just want the best gaming headphones like I did, grab the AD700s.
