yes, but just like in lockheed case, the profits made and damage done far surpassed the fine that was delivered.

that is how american corporations further their trade with malicious practices, because american courts provide them near immunity. its almost universal - engage in illegal dealing, get fined some percentage in lieu of excessive profits or mega damage, like in the case of bp, lockheed et al.

It's not just the US. South Korea, Japan, and EU also went after Intel. In the past, Intel definitely used illegal practices to hold market dominance but that's over and done with. Now they hold market dominance due to the sheer performance advantage.

AMD executives and shareholders don't give a damn about you. You think they had your best interest in mind when Hector Ruiz was let go but got a huge compensation package with million dollar bonuses?

If you can't stand American corporatism, don't buy AMD then, which was started in Sunnyvale mother****ing California.

Why does someone need to trust Intel to buy an Intel processor?

Are you trying to say that Intel is shady while AMD is the bright angel that does everything for their customers and has never did things to get ahead like Intel?

Please......just because they are the underdog, does not mean they have not tried the same corrupt practices as Intel.

what strikes me odd, is that people not only trust such outfits, but also identify with them. stockholm syndrome maybe.
Intel already does this. Corporate America ftw.

AMD looks like a "bright angel" compared to the things Intel has done/is doing.

Excuse after excuse.

All the fanboys say the same **** over and over again. When Intel messes up, they messed up but when AMD messes up, it's the rest of the industry's fault but not AMD's. These corporations don't give a damn about you. Buy what's best for you wallet.

now see, this is the problem i have with today's society and its gullibility :

corp A, frauds once. gets fined. people say, ok, they frauded, but they got fined. they wont do it again.

corp A, engages in shady dealing again. they get fined/ordered to fix it. people see that that corp had engaged in shady stuff again. but they say 'well they got fined', and KEEP trusting that corporation.

this is what turns this planet into a hellhole.

a corporation that is built on an affinity for shady dealings, will NOT stop when it is fined, ordered, this or that. it will find another way to keep doing such things. just like how resorted to crippling amd/via/other cpus in their widely used libraries, after being fined for their shady dealing with the pc manufacturers.

you can bet your sweet ass, that they are doing something else after they got ordered by ftc in jan 2010 to fix it.

amd is not a born and raised american corporate culture corporation. if it was, you wouldnt be overclock the chips, you wouldnt have all the amenities of chip (like virtualization) available, you wouldnt have acceptable participation in open source, there wouldnt even be an amd - they would have sold it out to intel and got away with the proceeds, like most of the same do.

there are other corporations that do not share that particular corporate culture, however it is not our subject as of now.

No,Intel holds their domination short of a monopoly because of the said illegal acts they have done in the past. You Intel people just use the "business is business no one cares" excuse.
