Does it exist???

Been reading al sorts of stuff here and can't seem to find the "ultimate" keyboard for my wants. Maybe it's just buried in all the info here.

Looking at the Mechanical Keyboard guide, I've figured out that the following criteria is what I am looking for:

Cherry MX Brown switches
Backlit Keys
Cylindrical Keys
Double-shot Injection Molded keys

The keys seem to be the hardest to overcome. I'm tired of keys where the printing or painting wears off.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would also take a suggestion of a keyboard without backlighting as a alternative, but it's not preferred. But I could always rig up some soort of light that just lights the top.

doubleshot keys would defeat the purpose of the backlit keys.

so no, they do not exist.

btw, that's awesome you've been sitting on this sn for 4 years and this is your first post lol

I've tried brown, black, blue and alpines, really want to try reds though. I didn't really like the feel of blues and blacks, blues were a little easier on the hands but the travel to the switch seemed a little far to me. I wish reds weren't so expensive.

Did you reply to the correct thread?

Yeah, I'm thinking the backlit keys are a pipedream. So I'll just narrow it down to the other requirements. I ike the stuff I read about the Filco keyboards, but the printing on the keys will wear off like the keyboard I have now (if I understood the keyboard guide correctly that Filco does pad printing on them). Of course with a quality keyboard I could buy new keys?

And yes, long time reader, never time poster..

yeah you could always buy new keys.

there is a huge group buy at geekhack where you can get full sets. you really can't go wrong with a filco board. but if you want to save some cash, there is also leopold.

but none offer backlit keyboards.
