1080p LED TV 32" vs 24" 1080 LED Monitor?

Hey,
I am in doubt over what to chose for my next display for desk. I use the PC a lot so the only thing that keeps me from getting a 32" Samsung LED is the fact that 1080p might be too little for the display that size. Don't get me wrong, its great if you sit a few meters away and watch a blu ray or pop in Battlefield 3, but since I will use it for all PC related stuff (internet, word processing, etc.) the text might get a bit fuzzy in comparison to what I'm used to now (23" 1080p).
Pretty much the only reason I do want a TV over a monitor is the fact that when you play a console on a TV, for some reason it has that extra sharpness effect that monitors don't have.

I have my Xbox 360 hooked up to my current monitor and everything looks nice and smooth, but when I plug it into my 46" Samsung LED, my mind = blown because everything looks much sharper (in the sense that it has that extra effect, not cos my monitor has problems cos it doesn't, but monitors probably don't use the same technology)

Another thing is that I sit about less than 1m away from my monitor, and if i where to get a TV and hook it up to the wall above my desk that distance would increase to about 1m, which is why I'm worried about the 1080p being too small a resolution for 32".

Also I seem to enjoy Battlefield 3 more on the Xbox 360, even though it looks quite a tad better on my PC (running on High-Medium, 2xAA, 1080p at 30fps locked), but just seems way more fun on the 360 with friends and all, so that's mainly why I was considering a TV, for that extra sharpness effect for my 360.

Any ideas, suggestions? Anyone uses a 32" TV 1m away and using it as PC monitor? Or should I go with 1080p 27" monitor? How's the res on that?

24-27 is the golden size for monitors. Bigger than that and 1080p is not enough. At least IMO.

I would suggest 27" for mixed use at 1m away and for sharing. I use mine from my desk and for a movie with the missus from the bed. 32" is much to large for being so close.

I'd go with the 24" monitor. It's a good size and not to big or small for playing. But if you are playing on your PC, I notice your GPU is a 280. If you want to get really good 1080p, I would think of maybe upgrading it a little so it doesn't bottleneck with your CPU.

But to do a "tl;dr" on your question; 24 inch I would personally go with for PC gaming.
