New PC build help.

Thread Starter
Hello Overclock. I want to make an AMD gaming pc.

Preferably $500-$600 (flexible). I plan to test it with Battlefield 3, and am focusing on the "AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor" source. I prefer ATX motherboards and plan on putting the parts in a Cooler Mater HAF-912. I already have a graphics card though which is a EVGA GTX-560.

Thanks.

-Edit: I have monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.

-I want to test with my Intel setup, but my brother also needs a computer. This will most likely be his.
-Good FPS on Battlefield 3. (average)

so, really, the main thing you need to decide on is the MB?

CPU: Obviously the one you picked

Heatsink: COOLER MASTER Hyper 212 - Comes with a free hard drive cooler

GPU: Obviously the one you picked

Motherboard: ASUS M5A97 AM3+ AMD 970 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with UEFI BIOS

Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 8GB (2 x 4GB)

Hard drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 ST3500413AS 500GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5"

SSD: Corsair Force CSSD-F40GB2-A 2.5" 40GB

Optical Drive: LITE-ON DVD Burner

Power Supply: CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 V2 600W - $10 MIR

Now the SSD is in there if you would like it. Also, I think the PSU might be a little high, But if you are overclocking, Then its better to have a little bit more power.

Total: $673.92. I don't know the tax so that's not included nor shipping.

With the $10 MIR on the PSU, It gets up $663.92.

Sorry if that's a little higher than $600. I'm sure maybe someone else could find a cheaper part or two for the build.

^^^ that looks pretty good, and you're within budget since he already has the graphics card (unless i misunderstood?).

i prefer the crosshair iv as a mb though. also might want to bump up the size of the ssd if the budget allows, 40gb is cutting it pretty close.

I think 600W is maybe a little to much and can lower it to bring down the price a little bit. But I would stay with Corsair for the PSU company.

Edit: I found a 500W PSU and I figured the system would only take around 450W give or take. I found a Corsair PSU for $59.99 but if you use the promo code "EMCJKHC28", It takes off $5 so it's 54.99 but $39.99 after MIR. So the total would be around $648. So you cut off around $15-16.
