600 Dollar BF3 Rig - Page 2

I think if you go with the i7 route instead of mine, you have a lot of room. You can get a Maximus Gene Z board, a 560ti video card, Seasonic X series PSU, 8GB RIPJAW memory, and possibly even an SSD plus a case....

BUT-that is up to you Save your money and go my route, or go all out with the I7

Decent cpu cooling for overclocking - CM Hyper 212+ $26
case
motherboard - ASRock Z68 Extreme3 $125
graphics card - GTX 560TI $220
power supply (if he doesnt plant to SLI) - Rosewill HIVE-650 $80
ram - G.SKILL Ripjaws 8GB $50

I didnt leave much room for the case, just realized that -_-

60 bucks left for a case.

Edit. Took a little more time and now you have room for a better case. 100 bucks left for a good case.

If HT is problem then the game has to fix it, i heard alot people with high end pc are getting Choppy 50 fps there...
Game looks good but optimization is fail
He may need to turn it off. Those who have HT and are having issues, turning it off seems to be the fix.

I never said for him to leave it off. I'm just saying that I HEARD that hyperthreading doesn't play well. You don't have to freak out on me.

I built my friend's parent's rig with that case. Great case. It's kind of slim though, so don't be expecting to fit a big air cooler in there. I'm not even sure if it will fit the Hyper 212+, but this was just from me looking, I didn't actually try to fit one in the case, so somebody else could be saying different..

I'm sure it would fit gpu's no problem though, just big air coolers I'm not sure about, that's all.

But still for $35 it's an amazing case.

HT is fine usually. I have a 2600k rig in my study and it never gives me problems for gaming.

you do realize that 600 dollars will probably only be enough to play bf3 at medium to high right?

But do you play BF3 ? Because yes, HT most definitely has a negative effect on gameplay.
