What is a "D5"?

Browsing pumps, reservoirs, and accessories, I come across many references to the description "D5". Is that a type of pump, a form-factor, or what?

Its just a type of pump. The D5, MCP 655, VPP 655, and PMP 450 are all the same pump.

Liang D5. It is a legend among pumps, simply because it's been around forever. My grandma had one in her 8086 build.

Hi,

I have a pair of Koolance PMP-450 pumps. The box describes them as:

Laing Thermotech D5T Vario/810N

Looks like they are an adaption of the "D5 810 N" described in the following ITT product sheet:

Then why does the Koolance PMP-450 do 1080 L/hour, and the Swiftech MCP655 do 1200 L/hour ?

One is 12–24 V, the other is 6–14V. One has a max head pressure of 4.5m, the other 3.1m.

The Koolance wants more voltage, delivers higher pressure, but less flow rate.

How is that the same?

A pump, and a fantastic one at that. Probably the best on the market.
