HD595 right bias

Greetings,

I've had my HD595 for a couple of months now, and I've noticed that regardless of source, there's a slight bias toward the right ear. By that I mean that the right speaker is slightly louder than the left.

I've actually had my hearing checked, and there is no discernable difference between my hearing ability in my right ear versus my left. Is this a known problem with the headphones? How should I resolve the problem?

For the record, my most frequent source is my Denon AVR-1312, but it also has the problem on my iPhone 4, iPod Nano G2, and Denon AVR-1911. All audio sources are Apple Lossless. I hear a significant difference in sound character when moving the can around on my ear, but even when I have both sides positioned as close to identical as I can manage, the problem persists. I wear glasses, but that doesn't seem to have any effect.

With my sound card there is a mixer, it allows you to adjust the left and right sound levels...maybe you can see if you messed with that or you can adjust it to even it out?

Isn't that ruled out by the use of four different sources, all with the same L/R balance?

I mean, I see what you're saying; I could fix the problem using the sound controls on my source devices, but I just don't think I have to. At the same time, I don't want to start a return process without knowing if I have a legitimate complaint. Does that make sense?

Yea, makes complete sense to me. I guess it is just a headset problem...contact Sennheiser and see what they have to say about it. It could be a stretched wire in the headset with less connection than the other side. I had a problem similar to this when I fell out of my chair (lol) and the wire stretched a little and the volume decreased in my left speaker.
