EDIT: Yes this is a yellow light of death PS3 that I took apart.
So this is a PS3 that one of my friends managed to find for free. His uncle acquired it somehow and gave it to him to see if he could fix it, my friend in turn gave it to me to see if I can fix it.
From the looks of it someone already took it apart because the ribbon connecting the blu ray drive was already loose.
Anyway take a look at these disgusting pics, this brown dirt was everywhere. I've seen it in computers owned by smokers before.





I honestly don't know if it can be fixed. I mean even those that do seem to get it working say they have to re-fix their PS3's every two months or so. Personally I think I will just take it all apart and make a key-chain out of the cell processor or find some way to pointlessly make that massive fan a part of my rig.
